Abstract
El objetivo de este artículo es exponer de manera sucinta la historia del Departamento de Cultura y Arte de la Universidad Católica Boliviana. Para ello, se realizó una investigación documental sobre el Departamento, reconociendo los hitos históricos que marcaron el devenir del Departamento de Extensión Cultural, desde 1971, y del Departamento de Cultura y Arte, desde 1998. Se reconocen las principales áreas de acción que ponen de relieve el arte y la cultura desde una perspectiva humanística.
The aim of this article is to briefly expose the history of the Department of Culture of Universidad Católica Boliviana. With this purpose in mind, a documentary research was undertaken focusing on the milestones of the Department of Cultural Extension, from 1971 on and of the Department of Culture and Art from 1998 on; and highlighting the main areas of action in art and culture from a humanist perspective.
