Revalorizando los recursos de la biodiversidad de la Chiquitania boliviana: una mirada científica hacia el fortalecimiento de las comunidades locales

RESUMEN******* La biodiversidad boliviana constituye una de las mayores riquezas del país y una oportunidad estratégica para el desarrollo sostenible. En este estudio se evaluó el contenido de compuestos fenólicos y flavonoides en frutos tropicales de la Chiquitania. Los resultados evidenciaron concentraciones variables de bioactivos, destacando la Solanaceae sp. y las cáscaras de varios frutos como las fracciones con mayor potencial antioxidante. Se observó una correlación positiva entre fenoles y flavonoides. Estos hallazgos subrayan la importancia de revalorizar subproductos comúnmente desechados, promover su aprovechamiento y reconocer a la biodiversidad como un patrimonio estratégico para Bolivia.Bolivian biodiversity constitutes one of the country's greatest assets and a strategic opportunity for sustainable development. In this study, the content of phenolic compounds and flavonoids was evaluated in tropical fruits from the Chiquitania. The results revealed variable concentrations of bioactive compounds, with Solanaceae sp. and the peels of several fruits standing out as the fractions with the highest antioxidant potential. A positive correlation between phenolics and flavonoids was observed. These findings highlight the importance of revalorizing commonly discarded by-products, promoting their utilization, and recognizing biodiversity as a strategic heritage for Bolivia.
