Abstract
This study analyzes the influence of emotional intelligence (EI) on job performance (DP) in a commercial company in Lima, Peru. The methodology used was a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design; validated and reliable instruments were applied to a census sample of 60 employees. The influence of the five dimensions of EI-self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, conscientiousness, and social skills-on DP was also evaluated, revealing a significant relationship (R=0.951; R²=0.903). Inferential analyses were performed using a linear regression model, which showed that all dimensions of EI significantly predict DP, with social skills (R²=0.767) and social awareness (R²=0.760) having the greatest impact. The study concludes by indicating that fostering EI in employees improves their performance, motivation, and well-being at work.
